What Steps Are Needed After Wheel Forgings Are Formed?

Wheel forgings refer to workpieces or blanks obtained by forging deformation of metal blanks. By applying pressure to the metal billet to cause plastic deformation, its mechanical properties can be changed.

Forging waste heat quenching is a process method of obtaining a martensite or bainite structure after the wheel forging is formed, when its temperature is higher than a certain temperature, it is quenched into an appropriate quenching medium.

After forging the waste heat quenching and tempering, the wheel forgings can not only obtain better comprehensive mechanical properties, but also save energy, simplify the process flow, shorten the production cycle, reduce personnel and save investment costs of the quenching furnace.

After the forging of the wheel is quenched and heat-tempered at high temperature, the strength and hardness of the wheel forging are generally higher than those of ordinary quenching and tempering, and the plasticity and toughness are slightly lower than those of ordinary quenching and tempering (when the tempering temperatures are the same). If the forging waste heat quenching is performed, after using a higher tempering temperature (generally 40 ~ 80 ° C higher than the tempering temperature of ordinary quenching and tempering), its plasticity and toughness are equivalent to or slightly higher than those of ordinary quenching. After forging the waste heat of the forging of the wheel, the strength and hardness are significantly improved on the premise of maintaining plasticity and toughness. In addition, the grain of the wheel forging is larger than that of ordinary quenching, which can improve the cutting performance of the material.
