Wheel hub: also called rim. English RIM means wheel hub. In layman's terms, it is the part where the axle is installed in the center of the wheel, which is an important part connecting the brake drum (or brake disc), the wheel and the axle shaft. It is sleeved on the shaft tube or steering knuckle journal with bearings.

Wheel hubs are mainly divided into casting and forging in terms of manufacturing process. Generally, cast rings are made of aluminum, while forged rings are made of aluminum and titanium. In general, the forged ring is strong, and the forged ring is used for racing. The first-level forged ring used for racing is equivalent to half the weight of our ordinary cast ring. The lighter the weight, the less power loss the car will lose and the faster it will run.

Another distinguishing index of the wheel hub is the difference between the hole pitch and the eccentricity. To put it simply, the hole pitch is the position of the screw, and the eccentricity reflects the distance from the surface (fixing surface) of the hub used for screwing to the center line of the hub. The requirements for a good wheel hub are: uniform density, round shape, low thermal deformation, and high strength.

Wheel hubs can be updated. Some people upgrade their cars and use larger wheels, but the outer diameter of the tire remains the same, the flatness of the tire becomes larger, the lateral swing of the car is smaller, and the stability is improved, but the car What is lost is comfort.

The combination of tires and wheels is, for a car, like a combination of clothes and shoes. Once matched, they can complement each other.

Protect the wheel

The wheels of luxury cars are mostly made of aluminum alloy. This kind of wheel looks beautiful, but also very delicate. To keep the appearance of the hub beautiful, in addition to being extra careful to prevent accidental damage to the hub during driving, the hub must be maintained and maintained regularly. If you have time, you should perform a thorough cleaning once a week.

1. Wash away the sand particles attached to the surface of the wheel hub and the dirt that is easy to damage the wheel hub. Otherwise, the surface of the alloy will be corroded and damaged.

2. Treat the inner and outer surfaces of the hub with an acid-proof cleaner. It is best to wax the wheel hub every 2 months to extend the life of the wheel hub.

Note: In order not to damage the protective layer on the surface of the hub, paint brightener or other abrasive materials cannot be used on the hub. When the alloy protective paint is damaged, such as scratched by a hard object during driving, repair the alloy wheel as soon as possible and repaint it. This is best done at a professional repair station.
